Mark your calendars and step up the pace of your training schedule.  The Fool’s Run is coming up.  Race applications are being prepared now and will be included with the February newsletter.  Serving as Race Directors again this year are Bill Winters, Speed Pulliam, and Dick Gigliotti.

Spring Banquet Reservation Form

The banquet this year will be held in the La Prima Room at the Rustic Lodge in Indiana.  The La Prima Room has a private cash bar and seating is limited to 48 people.  For the past few years that is about the number who have attended the Spring Banquet, so we shouldn’t have any problems.  If you plan to attend the banquet, please send your reservation form in early to avoid disappointment.  Our guest speaker this year is Connie Gardner.  Connie is a nationally ranked ultra-marathoner who will share her experiences with us.  Among her accomplishments, Connie  ran 16:22:15, a national record, at the 100-mile road championship in her home state of Ohio in September following her four first-place finishes at highly competitive 50-mile and 50K trail and road races. These races earned her the Ruth Anderson Award as USATF's Female Ultrarunner of the Year Award. Gardner's outstanding performance at the 2002 100K USATF Championship earned her a berth on the 2003 USATF 100K team.  Plan to arrive by 6:00 PM for drinks followed by a buffet dinner at 7:00 PM.  Annual club awards will be presented after dinner following Connie’s talk.  Master of Ceremonies will be Dick Gigliotti.  Serving on the banquet committee are Mark and Mel Stern, and John and Cathy Swauger.

Our thanks to all who have sent in orders for club t-shirts.  We are at 51 shirts at the moment and need to be at a minimum of 88 for the best price on the screen printing.  At this point the deadline will be extended another week to February 21^st.
